I’m glad we took a one week hiatus in our PGA Tour Betting
Challenge as last week at the Sanderson Farms Championship, I
would’ve been absolute dead money. There is no way in hell I
would’ve picked Sergio Garcia to win…I mean, other than for his
name recognition, who would’ve? My main pick would’ve been
Sam Burns…who promptly missed the cut.
Fortunately, we’re back at it this week for a star-studded event in
Las Vegas. While I believe Harry used to work and live in
Summerlin, he probably knows the course a heck of a lot better
than I do…so advantage him. But I have played it several times in
PGA Tour 2K21 on Xbox (I’m not much of a video game player
but man is that game fun!)…so that has to count for something
(very, very small), right?
I wouldn’t call it a major-caliber field but it’s also way better than
most fall tournaments. After all, who wouldn’t want to spend a
weekend in Vegas with a chance to win big money…especially
with another big tournament having relocated there temporarily
next week! Look for a birdie fest as per usual at another fairly
wide-open course.
Once again the rules for our challenge:
Each week, Harry, Parlay Kid, Producer Michael and I will get a
simulated $200 to bet…$100 on golfers to win that week’s
tournament and another $100 to be spread amongst top-5, top-
10, top-20, and other prop bets. We’ll track the progress to see
who does the best and whether we can produce positive ROIs.
