It’s a good thing last week’s Sentry Tournament of Champions

didn’t count towards this year’s BBC Betting Challenge standings!

I went 0-fer and therefore would’ve been down $200…but I’m

ready to officially start the new season with our full lineup of guest

pickers.

Like last year, each picker will get a simulated $200 to bet; $100

of which will be on win bets and another $100 on top-5, top-10,

and top-20 bets only. The kicker this time is that the money can

only be spent on a maximum of three golfers in each category.

Picking winners has never been so difficult.

Here’s how the four of us fared in 2020:

Eric: +$1522.50 (19 weeks)

Michael (BBC Producer): -$100.25 (14 weeks)

Parlay Kid: -$253.75 (18 weeks)

Harry: -$1639 (19 weeks)

We’re fortunate to add the third member of the ‘Degenerate

Trifecta’, Brother Bri, to our challenge in 2021. This week’s

tournament, The Sony Open, rounds out a two week Hawaii

swing before the PGA Tour heads to California for two weeks. Six

of the last seven winners of this tournament have played the week

prior at the Tournament of Champions, the only exception being

last year with Cameron Smith. Seeing that nearly ¾ of last week’s

field is teeing it up this weekend, there are plenty of good value

picks to choose from.
