Charles Schwab Challenge

Odds to Win

+700 Rory McIlroy

+1100 John Rahm

+1600 Justin Thomas

+2000 Bryson DeChambeau

+2200 Webb Simpson

+2500 Brooks Koepka

+2500 Dustin Johnson

Golf is finally back this week in Fort Worth, Texas. The field is set with 16 of the top 20 players in the world looking to take home the championship at Colonial. It will certainly be interesting to see who comes out hot and who is still rusty for the layover. Here are a few of my selections that stood out in my mind.

Will this Player Make or Miss the Cut

-200 Yes Jordan Spieth

Spieth is due plus he’s basically playing in his backyard

+180 No Sergio Garcia

This extended layover could spell trouble for Garcia. Garcia has not done much of anything since he won the Masters a couple years ago

-265 Yes Sungjae Im

All this youngster does is enter every tournament the PGA has to offer and make cuts

Match Ups

-120 Kevin Kisner

+110 Bubba Watson

This is just a situation of who is more consistent and that happens to be Kisner. Watson could come out flat and Kisner is a better overall putter.

Kisner

-110 Justin Rose

+105 Marc Leishman

Leishman is a tough hombre but I’m leaning Rose here. Rose won here in 2018 and should play solid golf this week

Rose

My 6-Pack of Top 40 Finishes

-400 Jon Rahm

-225 Justin Thomas

-150 Patrick Reed

-110 Tony Finau

+100 Justin Rose

+100 Gary Woodland

That’s 4 fantastic Americans and 2 Europeans.

Speaking of Europe…

Top Swedish Player

-225 Alexander Noren

Or

+165 Henrik Norlander

Norlander can surprise from time to time but I’m going with experience here in Noren.

Noren

Winner

11/1 Jon Rahm or 25/1 Brooks Koepka

Rahm has two top 5’s here in the last three years and Koepka finished 2nd in 2018 plus at 25/1 this is great value

There are my players for the return of golf. Everyone take care of yourself and enjoy four wonderful days of gambling and golf.
