Race: Auto Club 400
Date: March 1, 2020
Location: Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California
The first two races of the season have now been completed as we get ready for the third race, this week in California. The race in Fontana is always interesting and Ford has produced in the last three races here, nine of the top 5 out of 15 finishing spots, but zero wins. In the past four races Toyota and Chevy have two wins each. After Fontana NASCAR swings south to Phoenix, and after two races this is an update of who leads in points for the cup.

81 Points – Kevin Harvick 92 laps led

To Win Race and To Finish in Top 3
Kyle Busch
5/1 To Win
+125 To Finish in Top 3
Busch loves this track and this race and is constantly one of the leaders here at Fontana. Busch is the defending champ and he led in 134 laps. Busch also won in back to back years in 2012 and ’13.
Kevin Harvick
5/1 To Win
+125 To Finish in Top 3
Harvick has a top 5 and a top 10 so far this season and way back in 2011 he won this race. He had back to back second place finishes in 2015-16 and had a 4th place finish last year.
Brad Keselowski
7/1 To Win
+175 To Finish in Top 3
Keselowski has three straight top 5 finishes here and was able to pull off a miracle in 2015, winning this race while leading for just one lap.
Martin Truex, Jr.
8/1 To Win
+185 To Finish in Top 3
Truex won here in 2018 (led 125 laps) and is due for a big finish. Plenty of media had big plans for Truex this season (myself included) and this is a spot he can work the other drivers and create plenty of opportunity for himself like he did two years ago. We are only two races in, but it is time Truex gets solid finish.
Harry’s Top 5 Match-Ups For Fontana
-115 Clint Bowyer over Aric Almirola
Bowyer at times at Daytona was close to the lead and in 2017 he netted a third place finish at Fontana.
-130 Ryan Blaney over Denny Hamlin
Blaney leads in points so far this season with 85 and recorded a top 5 finish here last season.
-120 Kyle Larson over Chase Elliott
Elliott has been a bit disappointing so far in 2020, meanwhile Larson is fourth in points and won here in 2017 and finished in second in 2018.
-120 Kyle Busch over Joey Logano
This is Busch’s type of track and Logano may take it kind of easy this week after last week’s victory in Las Vegas.
-120 Jimmy Johnson over William Byron
Johnson was a winner here in 2016 and was able to record a top 10 finish in Las Vegas a week ago.
Start your engines !!! And good luck. Harry
