Three weeks ago, when we put this challenge together, I was feeling uber-

confident in my golf betting skills. I had just pegged Webb Simpson as the

winner of the RBC Heritage at decent odds plus a Tyrrell Hatton top-10

wager that also paid handsomely. And then I ran into the real gamblers…

Congratulations to Parlay Kid for hitting Collin Morikawa at 35-1 by virtue of

an incredible Sunday comeback and scintillating playoff victory over Justin

Thomas at the Workday Charity Open. Needless to say that barring Harry

or I picking the winner anytime soon, Parlay Kid’s lead is safe. Harry also

had a profitable week thanks to Gary Woodland and a risky bet on whether

there would be a playoff. Considering the need to turn a profit quickly, I’m

going with a risky strategy (see below)…it’s boom or bust time!

Muirfield Country Club hosts the very (very, very) rare back-to-back PGA

tournament, this time Jack Nicklaus’ own, The Memorial. Last year’s

winner, Patrick Cantlay shot a score of 269 (-19) which was matched by

last week’s top two finishers, Morikawa and Thomas. With the course likely

to play tougher this week, I’d put the winner right around 272 (-16).

Once again the rules for our challenge:

Each week, Harry, Parlay Kid, and I will get a simulated $200 to bet…$100

on golfers to win that week’s tournament and another $100 to be spread

amongst top-5, top-10, and top-20 bets. We’ll track the progress to see who

does the best and whether we can produce positive ROIs.
