We are at the halfway point of the NBA season and despite having a five game lead over the Clippers in the standings the Lakers find themselves in a battle for Los Angeles and have the same odds with Doc Rivers team for the championship. The talent level is there for the Clippers but staying healthy has been their issue. Kawhi Leonard and Paul George have missed 24 games combined but when in the lineup they are solid as ever. Once the Clippers get healthy they will be a formidable foe for the rest of the NBA. At 35 years old Lebron James is two rebounds a night short of averaging a triple double and Anthony Davis is arguably the MVP of the league. In the East the Bucks are an astonishing 35-6 halfway through the campaign and have put major separation between them and the Celtics and Sixers. Of course, the reason for the separation is Giannis “The Greek Freak” Antetokounmpo who is averaging 30 points a game and 13 rebounds. The Bucks at +325 is probably a smart play to take them now because it’s hard to believe that anyone else can come out of the East at this point. If you are looking for a longshot the Mavericks at 30-1 is worth a flyer. The Mavs are a solid team in a tough Western conference. They do possess two rising stars in Luka Doncic (averages 29 points, 10 rebounds, 9 assists) and power forward Kristaps Porzingis.
