NASCAR Drydene 311

Dover, Delaware

Saturday, August 22

I will be providing back to back 6 packs because NASCAR is having both yearly races at Dover this weekend. This will make the third time NASCAR has done this with the latest coming earlier this month in Michigan. My record continues to astonish and with a little luck I hope to improve even though it’s not easy to do when you are 39 picks above .500. Look, yes I said it and that might be a bit arrogant but who else is 39 picks above .500 in any sport let alone NASCAR.

Harry’s First 6-Pack of the Week

Saturday’s Picks

-150 Jimmy Johnson Top 10 Finish

Johnson has had a tough final season but his history in Dover can’t be denied. In 36 races he has 11 wins and has led for a remarkable 3110 laps.

-140 Martin Truex Top 5 Finish

Truex has three career wins here and in last season’s races here he finished first and second.

-125 Alex Bowman over Kurt Busch

Bowman has had a disappointing season but ran well in Dover a season ago finishing second and third. Kurt Busch can’t be trusted on this racetrack since he has 7 DNF’s in his career (did not finish).

-145 Denny Hamlin over Kyle Busch

Hamlin actually led for 218 laps the last time he raced here (finished 5th) and Busch continues to have bad luck late in races. Last week he finished 37th after blowing a tire with 10 laps left and in Dover just like his brother has 7 career DNF’s.

+105 Car # of Winner is ODD

I’ll take the underdog in this spot and roll with Truex (19 car), Elliott (9), and Hamlin (11).

-145 Martin Truex over Chase Elliott

These two ran first and third last week in Daytona with Chase getting the victory. I expect both these drivers to run well but Truex in the end will return the favor to Elliott. In the last three races in Dover these two gentlemen have two of the wins but last race Elliott wrecked and had a poor 38th finish.

Harry’s 6-Pack of Positioning

#6 Jimmy Johnson

#5 Brad Keselowski

#4 Kevin Harvick

#3 Chase Elliott

#2 Denny Hamlin

#1 Martin Truex, Jr
