Week 3 in the XFL had some firsts and also had the norm happen again. The Vipers scored their first offensive touchdown in a seven-point loss to Houston and the Wildcats shocked the Defenders in capturing their first win of the season. The norm was that the Roughnecks lit up the stats and the scoreboard again and quarterback of St Louis, Jordan Ta’amu had another great guy in rolling the Guardians by 20 points. Here are the latest spreads and trends heading into week 4. Here are some numbers to keep in mind through Week 3:

Favorites are 5-4-1 ATS

Unders are 8-4 ATS

Week 4 XFL Lines

Saturday February 29

-7.5 Los Angeles Wildcats @ New York Guardians 39.5

Seattle Dragons @ St Louis Battlehawks -12.5 39

Sunday March 1

-1.5 Houston Roughnecks @ Dallas Renegades 50

-2.5 DC Defenders @ Tampa Bay Vipers 44

Through 3 Weeks:

Favorites 5-4-1 ATS

Unders are 8-4 ATS

-7.5 Wildcats @ Guardians 39.5

New York continues to have offensive issues and have scored just 9 points in the last two weeks combined. Los Angeles exploded against the Defenders by 30 and now travel cross country to take on the Guardians. It’s not a wise play to side with New York here but after just one well-played game the Wildcats are more than a TD favorite which doesn’t make sense to me. I’m taking a shot that head coach Kevin Gilbride has the Guardians offense back in shape and that their defense keeps this game close.

18 Los Angeles Wildcats

17 New York Guardians

Dragons @ Battlehawks -12.5 39

The Battlehawks have covered all three of their games and as I mention earlier it has a lot to do with their quarterback play. Their defense has been excellent and has allowed double digits in just one game. For the Dragons wide receiver Austin Proehl has three of the teams five offensive touchdowns. So, for St Louis it is very simple, in if you stop Proehl you stop the Dragons.

11 Seattle Dragons

25 St Louis Battlehawks

-1.5 Roughnecks @ Renegades 50

Quarterback PJ Walker is the XFL’s MVP as of now with 10 touchdown passes and a league leading 748 yards passing. Houston also has the best wide receiver in the XFL as well in Cam Phillips. Phillips is averaging 2.3 touchdowns a game (has 7 Td’s). Houston also can run the ball effectively with James Butler. Butler has two rushing scores and is fourth in the league in rushing. Houston is averaging 33 points a game and since Dallas has had quarterback Landry Jones at the helm the Renegades are averaging 24.5 points a game themselves. Dallas has a solid receiver as well in Donald Parham (3rd in XFL in receiving yards). This should be the game of the year so far and I think this will be a shootout in Dallas on Sunday. The OVER in this spot is my BEST BET of the week.

32 Houston Roughnecks

29 Dallas Renegades

-2.5 Defenders @ Vipers 44

I guessed at the beginning of the week that DC would be a one point favorite, but Vegas had Tampa Bay as a 1.5 point favorite. Now the Defenders are -2.5 and should not have been a dog just because of one bad game. The Vipers coaching is their biggest problem and as of now should never be a favorite. DC quarterback Cardale Jones is only completing 58% of his passes so that is something to keep an eye on but overall the Defenders are a better team and they get a win in this spot on the road in Florida.

19 DC Defenders

14 Tampa Bay Vipers
